Speaking of Black Keys, if you like that bluesy rock, lo-fi, garage, but still hipster indie enough, etc...

This is one of my favorite genres

I've listened to the whole thing. It's not that I don't like it, but I am getting severe cognitive dissonance from how different it is from their earlier albums, which I loved. I think I need to trick myself into thinking that it is a different band to appreciate it.

I was introduced to these guys a while back because I really love awesome guitar work and Animals as Leaders is about as good as it gets. Tosin Abasi, their main guitarist, is a freak of nature. I guess the genre would be progressive experimental instrumental metal or some shit, but I like it because it's strangely soothing music for being heavy rock.

On Impulse - It builds rather slowly, so give it a chance.

CAFO - This weird video shows off how effortless Tosin's playing is.

I guess I'm the oddball here.

I listen to classical music, soundtracks (including warcraft soundtrack), Rush, Foo Fighters, the Nationals, jazz and whatever Millya is listening to at the moment.

Right now I'm listening to the greatest movie soundtrack chorales record and will be listening to music by Ennio Morricone after.

Oh, did I mention I also listen to french music from the 70s and 80s?

So yeah, don't ask me for recommendations.
